Jerry found a full honey jar near the lemon trees. Honey being his favorite food, he couldn't resist. He drank about half of it, then spun a top for awhile. He suddenly grew very tired and fell asleep. Newman the grendel happened to walk by. He picked up the honey, finished it off, and left the empty jar there.
Kramer was walking around, bouncing a beach ball, when he saw another ball just above him. What luck! He went up and started bouncing both balls around. Kramer laughed, then suddenly saw the cannon to the left. He went over and pushed it; it made a loud "Bang!" Another fun day in the life of Kramer the norn.
Jerry woke up feeling very hungry. He picked up the honey jar. Empty? He thought for a second. Who could of done this? Then he realized who it must have been, and got very angry. "Grendel!" He ate a sour lemon, for lack of anything better, and made his way back to the incubator.
Elaine woke up in the submarine she had been riding in. She had finally gotten away from Newman, who had been bothering her as usual. He was always hitting her and chasing her around. She made her way up the lift at the island, found the radio and started dancing joyfully. The first time she had done that around her friends, they had run away, so she always made sure to isolate herself when she felt like dancing.
After a few moments, another norn, the forest norn, came up the lift right next to her. Elaine stopped her dancing and regarded him. Cute, though a bit odd-looking. "Elaine get yes," she said.
"Eem doo dat," said the forest norn. Apparently, he wasn't too bright, but Elaine didn't care. She kissed him anyway. The forest norn kissed back, and they carried on for a few moments. Then suddenly, the forest norn went all the way back down the lift and ran out of sight, leaving Elaine very confused. Had he seen her dancing earlier?
Jerry got back to the incubator, and found Kramer running around playing with his beach balls. He had also eaten two of Jerry's cheese wedges. Needless to say, Jerry was irritated. Kramer told him about his adventure at the cannon and the music room.
"Kramer push bang! Kramer push music! Kramer get norn!" Jerry knew what he meant. Some female norn had heard him playing the harp, and there probably were a few tomatoes lying around. . .
Jerry told him his story. "Jerry sleep. Jerry drop food. Jerry stop grendel."
Kramer ate the last piece of cheese and started bouncing the ball around again. Jerry went up to the computer room to think.
He hadn't been there five seconds when his friend George came through the teleporter. "Crowded," Jerry said. Didn't he ever get a rest from these people?
George dropped something in front of Jerry. Some new kind of food. "Push," said George.
Jerry ate the donut, and couldn't believe it. It was the best food he had ever tasted! Better even than honey.
"George get food." He went back into the teleporter, and Jerry followed.
Jerry and George went past the lemon patch and past the various plants and weeds. A forest norn ran by, saying "Eem hungry," but they ignored him. They went up the lift and arrived somewhere they had never been before. A big tree was to the far right, which was where Newman was known to live, and to the far left was a mover. Immediately to their left was a building, occupied by a male and female norn. Behind them, there was a whole stash of donuts.
(Newman, who was sitting in the temple drinking Cokes, had seen them go up the lift, and wondered what they were doing. He'd have to go up there later.)
George went first. The norn with the donuts would not give any away, unless they were asked for in a precise manner. The balding norn spoke carefully: "George look food. George get food." The male norn picked up a donut and dropped it in front of George. George picked it up and ate it immediately, smiling.
It was now Jerry's turn. "Jerry look food. Jerry push food."
Wrong. The donut-hording norn got very angry. "No food!" he shouted. His female companion approached Jerry and slapped him once.
Dejected, Jerry went back home, with George following gleefully.
